Preview of Romanian Jewelry Week 2024

We’re thrilled to announce our participation in the 5th edition of Romanian Jewelry Week, happening from 2nd–6th October at the National Library of Romania. This year, we’re proud to present the works of six exceptional international designers, each bringing a unique style to the event.

Do you want to be the first to see?

Let our curator, guide you!

Hailing from Belgium, Anna Rosa Moschouti brings a timeless aesthetic characterized by minimal yet sophisticated designs. Inspired by the intricate golden veins of Kintsugi art—a Japanese technique of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with precious metals—Anna's latest collection is nothing short of breathtaking.

With a heritage that blends Greek and Dutch influences, Anna's multicultural background, coupled with the artistic legacy of her mother, has profoundly shaped her sense of beauty and personal identity.

Living and working in Belgium, she brings a contemporary edge to her designs, seamlessly blending tradition with innovation to create pieces that not only captivate the imagination but also reflect the modern aesthetic preferences of today's jewellery enthusiasts.

Hailing from France, Marion Fillancq emerges as a visionary glass sculptor, distinguished by her pioneering fusion of ancient techniques with contemporary craftsmanship. Trained in glass blowing and decoration at the European Center of Glass Art Searches and Training, Fillancq revolutionizes her field by infusing traditional flintknapping methods, reminiscent of Stone Age arrowhead crafting, into the delicate art of crystal manipulation. Her innovative approach draws inspiration from ancient civilizations, yielding a unique aesthetic that captivates audiences globally.

Fillancq's avant-garde creations, blurring the lines between sculpture and fashion, transcend conventional jewellery paradigms, embodying a fusion of primal allure and contemporary elegance. Continuously showcased in premier exhibitions of contemporary art worldwide, her works adorn galleries, museum shops, and fashion outlets across every continent, cementing her status as a luminary in the realm of artistic innovation.

The “Sand and Stars” collection is the creation of the talented designer Dolly Boucoyannis. Beyond the sheer beauty of her designs, what truly stands out is her unique approach of combining precious materials with elements such as pebbles—objects often overlooked for their intrinsic value. Yet, in nature, it can sometimes be more difficult to find a perfectly shaped stone weathered by the sea or wind than to come across other precious materials.

I have several exclusive pieces from this collection that will only be showcased during the event and will not be available on the website. It’s truly worth visiting to see and experience these unique designs up close. Among them is the *Beach Ant* ring—one of the highlights of the collection. This ring will also be exhibited at Milano Jewelry Week, one of Europe’s most prestigious jewellery events, where I have the honour of serving as a jury member.

It was about time to bring you a touch of Dutch sophistication with the exquisite designs of twin sisters Roos and Geertje Eek. With Roos mastering metalwork and Geertje mastering product design, their collaboration gave birth to an innovative jewellery brand proudly crafted in the Netherlands.

What truly captivates me about their designs is their boldness in embracing unconventional methods to craft their jewellery by repurposing massive machines originally designated for furniture and high-tech industries. Each piece tells a story of innovation and sustainability. In fact, many of their designs begin as recycled leftovers from these factories, transformed into stunning works of art through their creative vision.

Max Zara Sterck - a reputable Dutch fashion brand, influenced by the fluidity and grace of the female form, and Tweek Eek's industrial aesthetic, rooted in material exploration and machine-centric design, united their forces, and gave birth to a new Jewelry collection called VES. From this exquisite collaboration, I've selected an oversized belt and two pairs of earrings in different sizes. I personally prefer the large ones.

Born and raised in Greece but living and working in The Netherlands both as architect and jewellery designer Katerina Pimenidu describe herself as being a multi passionate, creative, and neurodivergent person, that often struggles with choosing one single path in her creative career.

The Netherlands/Greece

Katerina Pimenidu designs are characterized by bold architectural lines and a lot of experimentation with different pearl types and pearl placements. Most of the pearls in her collection are sourced from farms dedicated to slow production. For instance, the Tahitian pearls come from an organic farm on Tahaa Island, while the keshis and baroques are sourced from a family-operated pearl farm on Manihiki Island. Every pearl is hand-selected by her and her certified pearl grader. Originally trained in architecture, Katerina Pimenidu found her second passion in jewellery design.

Katerina has won four design awards, including first place at the Young Designers' Corner in Munich, and has exhibited her work in various galleries around the world, such as Pistachios Gallery in Chicago and the Lalaounis Jewelry Museum in Athens.

Hailing from Singapore, Ivon Wong is the newest addition to the gallery’s artistic team. With professional training in both fashion and graphic design, she pushes her creative expression beyond conventional boundaries.

Through her jewellery label, ‘Ivonovi’, she draws inspiration from diverse influences, including art, music, architecture, science fiction, and philosophy. Each piece of jewellery is an artistic creation in its own right. Experimental and edgy, Ivon's designs are a unique blend of modernity and timelessness. Her innovative approach won her the SG X NY Designer Mission Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). With a constant presence at New York Fashion Week, Milan Design Week, and exhibitions in Italy, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong, her work continues to capture international attention.

Join us at Romanian Jewelry Week to see from close, try and get mesmerized by the beauty of the this special selection!
